Job description

Open Rewards is building the fintech layer for cities to influence local spending in real time. Within a few years of launch, the platform has expanded to 100+ cities, generating substantial economic impacts and consistently delivering over 24X ROI.

We are funded by notable pre-seed and seed stage investors including the Alchemist Accelerator, Govtech Fund, and Stanford Impact Fund.

About the Role

You will be the operating engine behind Open Rewards’ go-to-market strategy. Working closely with the Founders, you’ll translate growth priorities into concrete campaigns, workflows, and playbooks across our partner communities.

This role is for someone who naturally moves from strategy to execution. If the goal is to increase user adoption in a city, you should be able to determine who we need to reach, what message will motivate them, which channels to use, what assets need to be created, how the campaign should launch, and how we’ll know whether it worked. You’ll also build the systems that allow successful tactics to be repeated across other markets.

Your work will not only bring to market products that integrate into consumers’ daily lives, but have a profound impact in their local commerce and how local businesses thrive.

What You’ll Do

Own the GTM motions end-to-end across city launches, consumer growth, merchant engagement, and ongoing program performance
Own Open Rewards’ company social media accounts, including the content calendar, writing posts, publishing, engaging with comments, and tracking performance
Write and manage content across blogs, case studies, customer stories, newsletters, launch announcements, email campaigns, and sales/marketing collateral
Turn successful city programs into compelling stories by interviewing customers, gathering data and quotes, and publishing case studies, blogs, award submissions, and social content
Plan and execute go-to-market for every new city launch, including launch timelines, city coordination, consumer communications, merchant outreach, local partnerships, and promotional campaigns
Build and manage local creator and influencer campaigns to drive consumer awareness and adoption in new and existing markets
Identify and develop local partnerships with chambers, business associations, community organizations, events, and other groups that can drive program adoption
Own merchant engagement campaigns, including onboarding communications, merchant kits, first-transaction follow-up, promotional opportunities, merchant spotlights, and periodic re-engagement
Build and run consumer growth campaigns, including referral programs, lifecycle emails, in-app campaigns, local promotions, and experiments designed to increase activation and repeat usage
Monitor performance across every live community and proactively identify underperforming cities, diagnose what is not working, and execute plans to improve participation and transaction volume
Maintain regular customer engagement through newsletters, best-practice sharing, customer roundtables, program ideas, and proactive recommendations

What We’re Looking For

3+ years experience in go-to-market strategy, product marketing, revenue or sales operations, ideally in consumer FinTech
A track record of owning a go-to-market motion end to end, rollout through adoption
You've been handed vague "go make this work" instructions, then built a solution that resonated with stakeholders and customers
A proven ability to be organized, methodical, and deliver projects with exceptional follow-through.
Move quickly and are comfortable with ambiguity
Take ownership and ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
Familiarity with merchant, payments, or fintech ecosystems is a must-have.

This is a full-time, salaried, remote position. You will work directly with our Founders, Operations, and Product teams.
